Delivering Safer School Projects Across the UK: GRD:CDM’s Busy Summer of CIF and SCA Works
This summer, GRD:CDM has been hard at work supporting schools and academies across the country as part of a major national programme of improvements.
In partnership with Warneford Consulting and Immortalis, we’ve been delivering projects funded through the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) and School Capital Allocations (SCA), ensuring works are carried out safely, compliantly, and on time.
Supporting 27 Schools and Academies Nationwide
Following the release of funding in May 2025, we acted quickly to support schools in getting essential improvement works underway before the summer holidays began.
We’re proud to be providing Principal Designer (CDM) and Client CDM Advisor services on 27 school and academy projects, stretching from Bradford to Devon.
The scope of work is wide-ranging and includes:
Roof repairs
Window replacements
Structural works
Heating system upgrades
Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installations
Our team’s role is to ensure these works are delivered safely, with Health & Safety embedded from the outset, and compliant with CDM 2015 regulations.
Getting Works On-Site Safely and Swiftly
The summer break presents a critical window for school projects, giving contractors a short timeframe to complete disruptive works while pupils and staff are off-site.
Our role in this fast-paced environment is to help ensure projects are properly planned, health and safety duties are clearly understood, and that construction can proceed with minimal delays.
With our support, schools and academies were able to get projects on site quickly, avoiding costly delays and setting up for successful project delivery ahead of the new term.
